Arthur Ashe acknowledges the crowd after defeating Jimmy Connors in four sets at the 1975 Wimbledon finals. Ashe, 35, was the underdog against 22-year-old Connors but kept the youngster off guard with a mix of pace and angles. The victory was Ashe’s first Wimbledon title and third Grand Slam overall.
